The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person’. (Tirmidhi)
This Ramadan, Salam Charity are providing nutritious iftar meals to some of the poorest communities in Bangladesh and Pakistan, with each community iftar feeding a minimum of 200 people.
Our community iftar will be provided to small rural communities in open spaces, allowing for adequate social distancing. Due to local customs, male members of households will attend the iftar, whilst women and girls will receive their meals in their homes.
We will be in Sylhet, working with local mosques to host the iftar meals in a socially distanced way. All mosque-goers will be invited to eat and to take a food parcel home with them. All remaining food will be provided to either a local community centre, vulnerable families nearby or to madrassas.
This Ramadan, don’t just feed your family but be a part of feeding the Ummah.
