As many Mosques throughout the UK announce a pause in activities due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, we make sincere du’as for the health and safety of all our families, our neighbours and the community far and wide.
We are all striving to establish new routines, one of our deepest challenges involves the closing of our beloved houses of worship. We encourage all families to pray in congregation, recite Quran together, and increase worship within our homes whilst we awaiting the end to the outbreak.
We don’t yet know how long this crisis will last but in the meantime, we need to continue to support our Mosques, many of which will struggle after this crisis is over. Your local Mosque relies on your donations during these blessed months of Shaban and Ramadan to allow them to continue their great work throughout the year.
We have established this fund to help and support those Mosques who will face great difficulty, most of which don’t have an online giving option.
Many mosques will still have bills which need to be paid and staff who have to support their families.
We are told to give Sadaqah generously to ward off calamity during difficult times and giving to the Mosque is one of the best forms of Sadaqah.
For millions of Muslims throughout the UK, giving a weekly contribution to the local masjid is a lifetime habit, don’t let this crisis change that.
