Over 30 people have been killed and more than 1,600 injured in a powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake in eastern Turkey on Friday evening.
The earthquake centred in the town of Sivrice in Elazig province was felt in neighbouring Syria, Lebanon and Iran and caused buildings to collapse and sent people rushing into the street.
Buildings have been flattened and people have been trapped in the rubble for hours in temperatures as low as -8. Many are still trapped or missing and sadly the death toll is predicted to rise.
Our local relief team are providing emergency kits which include warm food, medical aid, thermal blankets, protective sheeting and water to those affected by the earthquake.
We are coordinating with local government services and partners to ensure your aid goes to those who are most in need.
Please support this urgent appeal today to help our brothers and sisters in Turkey.
